Before you send in your paper to turnitin.com, here are a few reminders. Always check your rubric to make sure you’ve done what you were supposed to do.
1. Works Cited Page: you have one, right? It should have two scholars and The Scarlet Letter itself. If you’re using my book, note that there is no publication date. In that case, you put n.d. for “no date” where the date would typically go.
We use MLA format, and you can find all the info you need about it on the Purdue website to the right. Remember that you don’t number the sources!
2. Did you tame those comma issues? Have someone proofread for you specifically for comma issues.
3. Is your parenthetical documentation done properly?
4. Have you written in an academic voice, avoiding “I” in your paper?
5. Have you worked on your own style, working for variety in your sentence structures and appropriateness in your word choices?
6. Have you worked to incorporate your quotations smoothly? Remember the handouts I put on here about that.
7. Did you discuss rather than list?
8. Again, did you look to the rubric to make sure you’ve done everything you’re supposed to do?
9. Remember that the paper is due to turnitin.com by Sunday, November 29 at 10:00 pm.
